Iftest has just launched the very first MedTech Networking Event at the Technopark Zurich in collaboration with the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM) and Technopark Zurich. The event, which took place on 26th April was a success, with more than 70 participants from research, education and business backgrounds attending. We were delighted to meet influential representatives from start-ups, SMEs, engineering companies, pharmaceutical companies, the medical technology field as well as representatives from hospitals using new digital technologies, including University Hospital Zurich and the Schulthess Clinic. The variety and quality of the attendees made for lively, insightful and fascinating presentations providing real food-for-thought to all.

As digitalisation continues to advance, the medtech market is changing rapidly. An increasing number of smart health solutions are being developed based on wireless communication technologies and ‘connected devices’. Medtec Europe, which will take place from 17–19 April 2018 in Stuttgart, is offering its own Smart Health & Manufacturing programme specifically devoted to this topic. Directed towards well-versed decision-makers, the programme provides high-quality insights into the trends and opportunities presented by digitalisation. Visitors can look forward to a series of interesting talks and presentations of innovative product solutions. As a developer of electronic and digitalised smart health solutions, Iftest is playing an active role in the programme and is excited to welcome customers, partners and interested participants at the Medtec Europe.

When developing its latest display and control module, Iftest needed to consider the demanding standards of the medical and industrial sectors in terms of quality and robustness. The new module is built on a flexible modular architecture, making it possible to quickly offer highly customised solutions for specific customer applications. The system includes a pluggable Com module and a customized baseboard. This architecture approach allows customers to design the entire GUI themselves using conventional tools.

Shaping the future in Wettingen: for the first time, Switzerland Innovation and Park Innovaare joined Iftest in Wettingen for the Disruptive Morning informational event on innovation on 31 January. The topic of the event: ‘Highly innovative startup meets regulatory safety requirements’. Iftest’s Head of Development Jürgen Schulz demonstrated how the company partnered with Hechingen-based medtech company and former startup Cardiobridge to help implement its innovative new catheter pump in a hospital environment through a systematic risk assessment process.
