Benefits of Engineering with Iftest
A coherent product concept requires more than technical expertise – it demands a holistic engineering approach. At Iftest, product development is supported by comprehensive consulting from the very beginning. Key considerations include Design for Manufacturing (DfM), Design for Testability (DfT), electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), regulatory compliance, as well as electrical and functional safety. Our extensive project experience is directly incorporated into every stage of the development process.
In addition, feasibility studies and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analyses are conducted to ensure sound decision-making. Since Iftest covers the entire process through to series production, TCO assessments are based on practical manufacturing expertise and provide a high level of reliability.
Up to 80% of a product’s total cost is determined during the engineering and design phase. By carrying out early-stage analyses, costs can be optimized systematically while maintaining all quality-related requirements. Customers are closely involved throughout the process, for example through workshops used to define detailed product specifications.
The close integration of engineering and series production enables a fast and cost-efficient transition from functional prototype and pre-series units to full-scale manufacturing. This seamless process significantly reduces development risks and accelerates time-to-market.
Hardware-Engineering
Iftest has more than 40 years of experience in hardware engineering, including the development of microcontroller systems, motor control solutions, analog and digital circuits, communication interfaces, wireless data transmission technologies, display systems, and power electronics.
The engineering process begins with the development of a product concept based on customer requirements and specifications. Key focus areas include component selection, considering performance, availability, cost, and lifecycle management, as well as compliance with relevant standards and the definition of effective test concepts.
PCB design is carried out using state-of-the-art tools such as Altium Designer, ensuring efficient and reliable product development. Mechanical product design is realized in close collaboration with experienced engineering partners, enabling the seamless integration of electronic and mechanical components into a complete product solution.
Software-Engineering
Iftest develops software for embedded systems, with a strong focus on control applications, data communication, fieldbus technologies, and Internet protocols. Our software solutions are built using modern programming languages such as C/C++, C#, and Python, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.
In addition to traditional development methodologies, agile approaches are increasingly adopted to enhance flexibility, transparency, and development efficiency. Key areas of expertise include Functional Safety, Cyber Security, and the integration of wireless communication technologies.
