From the smart home to lighting technology
- Intelligent electronics for smart buildings
- Connected systems for integrated building management
- Energy efficiency and cost savings

A home or office that thinks along with its users is no longer a vision of the future. With electronics developed and manufactured by Iftest, innovative providers of smart home and building technologies can turn this concept into reality. Such systems help prevent damage caused by fire, theft, or intrusion. One example is locking technology with integrated electronics that enables safer and more secure access to rooms and buildings.
Smart, holistic building management has become a central focus for companies involved in building renovation and new construction projects. Easy-to-use lighting control systems play an important role in this context. Iftest supports customers such as the Austrian company Zumtobel with the development, industrialization, and series production of modern electronic solutions.
A key element of these solutions is the integration of new IoT technologies, which enable optimized building usage. Control systems equipped with sensor technologies and network connectivity help bring greater intelligence and efficiency to building management.
ExcellentThomas Fitz, Team Leader Technical Sourcing Zumtobel Group Services“We have been working with Iftest for seven years on the development and continuous improvement of the LITECOM module. During this time, Iftest has consistently demonstrated how well-structured their processes are and how flexible and open they are to new ideas. This allows us to fully focus on successful product development.”
Application Examples
Use Case: Intelligent Lighting Control
The Zumtobel LITECOM product is a key component of modern lighting management systems for office spaces and commercial buildings, such as luxury car showrooms. In addition to widely used functions like remote control, optimized and customized lighting programs that can reduce energy consumption by up to 82%, and the integration of more than 2,500 luminaires, the intelligent lighting system offers capabilities that go far beyond conventional lighting control.
As part of an Internet of Things (IoT) solution in environments such as smart buildings, the lighting system collects data to enable more efficient lighting usage. LITECOM also analyzes how illuminated spaces are used and whether the energy consumption is appropriate in relation to the number of people present.
Another important feature of the intelligent system is the continuous monitoring of maintenance and cleaning intervals to ensure they correspond to the actual level of usage. By optimizing these processes, operating costs can be significantly reduced.
